His devotion is so strong,
he courts her ceaselessly
with poems, speeches, songs and puns,
for anyone to see.
Now she, in turn, rewards him well;
gives insight, calm and peace,
a deeper knowledge of the world
and all that dwells beneath.
She fills his soul with negligence,
reserve up to the brim
and blindness so he does not see
those reaching out to him.
But nonetheless, he willingly
presents her with his heart:
Poet and loneliness, it seems,

A couple days later
the man discovered
that the combination
of spider's kiss

But ten years pass
and this young thief

passed into the void
not by blade
nor weapon
nor fall
but by a disease
we now call
cancer

This office was dry at least, but it was dark, and everything reeked of smoke. I hoped it was just Terran tobacco, despite knowing it probably wasn’t. This planet had far worse distractions, more addictive and more popular.
Eventually, my eyes
